VC's two hoots to JU Council's resolution HoD Remote Sensing gets additional charge of DPE 6/24/2016 10:31:02 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 24: Jammu University Council, the top decision making body of the University headed by none other than the Chancellor and the Governor has been demeaned by the incumbent Vice Chancellor as just one day after the resolutions of the last JU Council meet were circulated, its blatant violation was committed by giving dual charge to a Professor who was already Head of an academic department. Taking cognizance of complaints of giving multiple responsibilities to the blue eyed of the university administration, the JU Council had resolved in its last meeting that additional charge of more than one administrative post shall not be assigned to an individual. In the item no. 80.25 of the minutes of the Council meeting, with respect to additional charge of more than one administrative position/post, it was resolved that "the matter w.r.t entrusting additional charge of not more than one administrative position/post to an individual which requires full time involvement be approved". The assignments of charge of Conveners of various Boards, Deans etc. were however not considered as additional charge. Uproariously, however, while the copies of the minutes of the Council meet were circulated amongst all concerned on the 10th of this month, the University administration very next day ordered assignment of additional charge of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education to Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, replacing Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau, while he was already appointed as Head of the Department of Remote Sensing. "The appointment was in utter violation of the resolution of the JU Council as both the assignments required full time involvement" said a scholar of the JU.
