Jammu, June 24: Wrestlers of international repute, including country's top prize (Rs one crore) event winner, Mausam Khatri of Haryana, shall be star attraction in the upcoming 5th Panya Kesari Vishal Dangal slated to be held at Panya in Dori Dager, 38 kilometers from Akhnoor town, here on June 26. The event is being organised by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with Panya Dangal Committee. "The event is going to be first of its kind at the local level with highest ever prize money of Rs one crore winner wrestler, Mahabharat Kesari, Mausam Khatri of Haryana being the star attraction. Not only the special guest, this international wrestler shall also be contesting for the top bout, which has a prize tag of Rs 1.5 lakh, against Bharat Kesari, Sabba of Amritsar ," informed president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma in an interaction with media this afternoon. Besides other prominent wrestlers from neighbouring states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, all the top name in the state wrestling have been invited to make it a memorable event. "It was dream of the Panya Dangal Committee members, especially, Deepraj and Ram Paul Sharma to host a memorable event, so we helped them in inviting top wrestlers of the country. Since, we lack in transparent decisions during such big events, it was also decided by the organising committee to invite qualified individuals for balanced and fair judgements, especially for those top bouts," said Shiv Kumar Sharma. The organisers have decided to host Bhandara to those a large visiting spectators before the start of the bouts at 2 pm. The weighing-in for the participating wrestlers shall take place at 12 noon and rule has been made that no bout shall end in a draw. Among the outside participants are Roubaljeet of Punjab, Parvesh, Sunil Chotti Bala, Tej Beer (all from Haryana), Bharat Kumar Monu (Delhi, Sunil, Kuldeep, Sukha of Rajasthan, Parveen Bhola and Bholu of Delhi. Those local wrestlers to be seen in action include pride of state, Benia Min of J&K Police, Nissar Ahmed of Doda, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Ajay Kumar Sharma of Udhampur, Stephen (Babba), Amir Khan, Ishaq Khan (Lallu), Daller Khan, Murad Ali, Kulbir Singh, Mohd Sadiq, Roshan Lal, Kaka, Bobari, Farooq, Kalu and Fiza. The technical committee comprised Jagbir Singh, Ashok Kumar, Ashok Dhaka, Sohan Singh, Raman Kumar, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Bansi Lal Tidyal, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Om Parkash Verma, Sat Paul, Mohd Fareed and Deepak Wazir. |
