PDP praises govt for including Vaishno Devi Shrine in 10 iconic destinations 6/24/2016 10:25:22 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 24: Zone president of People's Democratic Party (PDP) Jammu West Puneet Singh Jamwal has hailed the decision of Central government for identifying Vaishno Devi as an iconic destination and to be cleaned on par with international standards for which the World Bank will provide technical assistance. Cleanliness of such holy places will also help sites witness rejuvenated atmosphere that will in turn help locals as well as pilgrims and tourists to enjoy the climate and serene surroundings at par with international standards. The decision of the Centre to ensure cleanliness of international excellence at such sites is a welcome step he said hoping that once this site is cleaned more such places would be taken up in Jammu and Kashmir in near future as well. He said that during the launch of this programme, the state government should also try to collaborate and involve officials so that same techniques and standards are adopted to upkeep other iconic sites in the state as well.
