Parkash parav of Guru Hargobind ji observed 7/5/2016 10:57:50 PM Early Times Report kathua, July 5 : Parkash Parav ( Birth Anniversary) of 6th Guru of Sikhism, Guru Hargobind ji was observed with religious zeal at district Kathua wherein devotees from surrounding areas reached at District Gurdwara Kathua and paid obeisance and being enchanted with Gurubani. Guru Hargobind Sahib was the only child of the Guru Arjan Dev ji and Mata Ganga ji, He was born in 1595 in Guru ki Wadali, District Amritsar. After the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev ji in year 1606, Guru Hargobind Sahib ji got Guruship, When he was just 11 he became the Guru. Guru Hargobind ji was very tall and strong, Height was somewhere between 7'2 to 7'6, Body weight was around 125 kg (275 pounds). Renowned Raagi Bhai Baldev Singh Badla enchanted the devotees with gurbani and suggested to follow the path of 6th Guru who worked for humanity and fought against evils. Community Kitchen was also organised on the occasion. While informing about the programme, Charnjeet Singh Bhola President DGPC Kathua and others first extended greetings to people on the parkash purav of Guru Hargobind and added that the guru made Akal Takhat, 'God's throne' for the Political and Religious affairs of the Panth. He fought many battles against the Mughals.
