Poonch, July 5: Following a clash at Mendhar Dak Bungalow, where a meeting was going on between government officials and a private party to settle a dispute over the construction of a road under PMGSY, furniture items were ransacked.
Official sources said PWD SE and PMGSY SE, Rajouri-Poonch range, and retired Naib-Tehsildar Khurshid Mir had come to the Dak Bungalow to sort out a dispute over the construction of a road with one Showkat Ahmed under PMGSY at Kotan, Mendhar.
During the meeting, noisy scenes took place all of a sudden and clashes broke out between some people who were present there. A person, who was making a video of the meeting with his mobile, was thrashed severely while it could not be ascertained as to why the scuffle had taken place there.
During the clash, the furniture of the meeting hall was ransacked and window panes were broken, sources alleged, saying the officials had left the meeting hall hurriedly.
Meanwhile, SDPO Shahid Naem said investigation in the case had been initiated and the persons responsible for the trouble would be booked under relevant laws. |
