Don't follow diktats of MPs, other leaders: BJP ministers tell officials | Review Meeting Aftermath | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 5: A day after two Bharatiya Janata Party MPs chaired a review meeting of the Power Development Department (PDD) here in absence of the concerned minister, the cracks within the BJP became wide open on Tuesdaywhen the BJP ministers reportedly told the officials not to follow the diktats of the MPs and other party leaders. Sources told Early Times that concerned minister has told the PDD officials to ignore the directions of the MPs and concentrate on their work putting the poor officials in a tight spot. Credible sources in the corridors of power revealed that BJP ministers have taken very serious note of Monday's review meeting which was not only attended by party MPs but also by some MLAs and MLCs. Monday's meeting is declaration of war against "incompetent party ministers" because MPs and MLAs are facing anger of the people due to non availability of basic amenities while as party ministers are busy in enjoying of luxuries being provided to them being ministers. Sources revealed that BJP MPs poked their nose in the functioning of the PDD to drive home a point that they are the real bosses. "The BJP ministers ignoring the BJP MPs and other leaders has caused major heartburns and they want BJP ministers to fall in the line and oblige them but indifferent attitude of the BJP ministers has pushed them to wall and they (MPs) and other leaders have declared a war against them ," sources added. Reviewing functioning of a department in the absence of a minister concerned, who belongs to the same party, is a glaring example of infighting and lack of coordination among leaders of the disciplined party. The MPs had not only reviewed functioning of the department but also made veiled attack on ministers of their own party by indirectly dubbing them incompetent to perform. As reported earlier, as party ministers have miserably failed to perform in their respective departments, the BJP high command has directed its leaders especially elected representatives to review functioning of the departments which are being held by party ministers. First meeting in this regard was held where two MPs convened meeting to review functioning of Power Development Department (PDD). Interestingly in the absence of the minister concerned, two MPs chaired a high level meeting of PDD senior officials and reviewed the working of the department, particularly the measurers being undertaken to ensure regular supply of electricity. Credible sources in the BJP said that keeping in view the brewing anger among common masses against failure of BJP ministers to solve their day today problems, high-command has directed party leaders to step in to save the situation. Monday's meeting was first in this direction. |
