| JU authorities harassing female student | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 5: Taking admission in the Jammu University (JU) is not less than a nightmare for a female student of sociology who is being continuously harassed by the authorities reasons best known to the concerned at the helm of the affairs.
As per documents in possession of Early Times, Examination wing of the JU framed a female student of JU, Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) M.A Sociology 2nd semester under unfair means for an exam for which the examination invigilators denied her entry in the hall and she is being harassed by Jammu University authorities to such an extent from last two months following which the student is gripped by mental trauma but the doctorial attitude of the JU authorities still continued.
According to sources, female student namely Shabnam Akhtar bearing roll number 1279-Socc-15 of MA Sociology who has submitted all her required documents well in the stipulated time required for admission and examination has been firstly denied for the issuance of the roll no slip on the ground that she has not filled the examination form.
"After running from pillar to post the Director of Distance Education (DDE) intervened and directed his subordinates to check the whole record detail of the candidate and surprisingly, it was found that the candidate has no fault and the authorities are delaying the matter reasons best known to them", said sources.
Sources further maintained that after the record was recovered, roll no of the candidate was issued within 15 minutes and she has been allotted the examination centre at Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar Hall B. following which, she reached the examination hall on May 7, 2016 as per her examination schedule but her entry in the hall was denied by the Superintendent of Examination hall on the pretext that her roll no was not mentioned in the sitting plan.
When she enquired from the concerned staff for the reason behind and also show them roll no slip issued by the University of Jammu, the staff stated that they have no intimation from the controller of examination Jammu University so they could not allow her to sit in the hall.
After that, the controller examination has been intimated by the husband of the candidate telephonically who narrated the whole episode and prayed him for justice following which the controller of the examination assured that no injustice will be done with the candidate and asked them to reach immediately to the examination wing of the university and met Ram Lal and Abrol as he has already directed these officials to verify the record and do the needful.
That the candidate reached the university in the best possible time with her brother and met with above said officials who told her that they have already verified the record and there is confusion as the same Examination and Hall to her. And they immediately, intimated this information to the controller telephonically who send Manzoor, an employee of the examination wing of university to visit the examination centre and got check the attendance sheet of the candidate. He verified the record and found the attendance sheet of the candidate along with other ones.
That after this development the controller was once again approached by the candidate to allow her to sit in the examination hall as still one an half hour was left for the examination and she can wrote her examination but utter to the surprise, the controller straight way refused for the same and said that he is helpless and asked the candidate to meet him in his office on next working day.
That the candidate met the controller on May 9, 2016 in his office and gave him written complaint about the negligence of the supervisory staff and also demanded for fresh examination.
Astonishingly, the university authorities instead of taking any action against this negligence, has called the candidate on May 31, 2016 telephonically at 3:43 pm that an unfair means case has been farmed against her and she has to appear before the High Power Committee next day morning in the chamber of the Vice Chancellor.
That the candidate when present the whole figure and facts before the committee they showed deaf and dumb attitude and the vice chancellor was repeatedly asked her just one question that how this matter has been published in the news paper.
He further threatened that as she has maligned his prestige and personality in the media while giving false statement as the supervisory staff and superintendent has informed us that you were never gone to the center for examination so she has to pay for this as they are going to debar her for next three years and spoil her carrier.
That on this the candidate blatantly challenge them for this great injustice and said that she will definitely knock the door of Pro Chancellor, Chancellor as well as court of law and she also gave written representation before high power committee. That till date Jammu University is playing dilly-dally tactics with the candidate on one pretext or another and no decision has been taken yet.
Here question arises, when student has not even entered the examination Hall how she has been booked under un-fairmeans and if the candidate was very much present in the Jammu University on the call of controller, how it is possible that the candidate having a 3yrs baby who cover a distance of near about 80 kms from Kathua to Jammu on that day is doing a propaganda as established by JU and was not gone to her Examination hall. |
