Doda youth selected as Assistant Professor 7/5/2016 11:03:44 PM Early Times Report Doda, July 5: Son of the soil Dr Jamsheed Ahmed who has been selected as Assistant Professor in English brought laurels to his home district in general and his native village in particular. Dr Jamsheed Ahmad is born in a peasant family in a very remote village Masri Pranu Tehsil and District Doda. From a very humble background, he did his initial schooling at Doda as his father was posted here as Stock Assistant in Sheep Husbandry Department. It is pertinent to mention here that his mother works as a private teacher in Faridia Model Higher Sec School Doda since 1993. After completing his graduation from GDC Doda, Dr Jamsheed Ahmad joined Department Education as an ReT in his native village. But the thirst for more knowledge didn't end and he joined Department of English, University of Jammu in 2005 and completed his PG in English. He did his B.Ed from Govt College of Education Jammu in the year 2008. After serving as a contractual teaching Assistant in GDC Doda for one session Dr Ahmad went AMU Aligarh for his doctorate. He worked on an area which was hardly touched in English literature. He did his PhD on Afghanistan. During his doctoral days he went to many universities for paper presentations and attended many national and international conferences. He has seven international publications to his credit. His papers have been published in various reputed international journals. After completing his PH.D, Dr Ahmad joined the University of Jammu (Bhaderwah Campus) for sometime but soon left it and joined the department of Education as a general line teacher. He served in HSS Dessa and at present is posted at HSS Boys Doda. An orator par excellence, he has earned a lot of respect in the department. He regularly speaks at various seminars and conferences across the district. During his college days he was a part of the college cricket team and was adjudged as the best NSS volunteer. It is to be mentioned here that his younger brother qualified the prestigious KAS examination in 2010.
