| Sham distributes prizes at finale of 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tournament | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, July 5: Senior Vice President JKPCC and Former Minister Congress Sham Lal Sharma distributed prizes at the finale of 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tournament held here at Akhnoor. The final was played between Tanishika Cricket Club Jammu and Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.The Tanishika Cricket Club lifted the trophy by beating Singh Cricket Club.
The tournament was organise by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor and AYC Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor) Zorawar Singh Gen.Secretary Press club was guest of honour.

Bishan Mangotra attended the occasion. Sham highlighted the requirement of holding such sports events to nurture the local talent and encourage sports activities in the state.
He said that Jammu youths were second to none in talent and determination and deserved the best facilities and avenues to hone their skills.
"You are our future and you have to lead from the front and show the way. In your empowerment lies our future.
Your skills and imagination hold key to the states prosperity "Sham lal told the youth while interacting with them during the tournament. He said Jammu possesses rich sports potential and youth require opportunities to prove their talent at the National level.
Former Minister said that it is immaterial who wins or loses, but participation in the games is important as it provides ample area for players to inculcate team spirit, discipline and zest to achieve the goal.
"Sports also provided opportunity to develop friendly relations with the people and emphasized the need for large scale participation of youth in sports activity "he added.
He said event is aimed to promote young talent and provide them platform to show and explore their hidden talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal lavished praised for the organisers for holding this tournament and said that such activities apart from promoting sports, help youth nit to derail from mainstream. |
