7/5/2016 11:04:05 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 5: Alleging fixed match between PDP and BJP over the subject of Land Bill in the Legislative Assembly, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister said that it was a part of the political stratagem between the coalition partners to first introduce the Bill and then to refer it to select committee.
He said that the proposed amendments in the Transfer of Property Act which provided for banning the transfer of land through power of Attorney, letter of undertaking, affidavits etc was cleared by the State Cabinet on June 23 with Ministers of both BJP and PDP present in the said meeting with a tacit understanding that its introduction would serve the interests of PDP and its referral to select committee would give a face saving to BJP which had all along been advocating the revocation of Act 370 and challenging the special status of J&K within the Indian constitution. He was addressing a huge public really in Village Rasli Thakrai of Ramnagar constituency.
Lambasting the BJP for its hypocrisy and double dealing, Singh said that its Ministers needed to explain their consent in the cabinet meeting of 23rd June for introduction of a bill which was opposed to its 70 year old slogan and its core philosophy. Ridiculing the BJP leadership for their mock show in the Assembly and subsequently their claiming credit for having sent the bill to select committee, he said that the half baked experts of the BJP must know that the select committee's recommendations have necessarily to be presented before the Assembly for voting within the time frame allowed for the propose. And once put to vote, the fate of the bill could be anybody's guess, he added.
Describing the fracas created by BJP in the Assembly as mere theatrics meant for the gallery, he questioned as to how and why the BJP allowed the introduction of the highly controversial Bill which in effect amounted to promotion of separatist agenda. He further ridiculed the narcissistically pleased BJP MLAs who rather than ensuring the withdrawal of the Bill chose to refer it to select committee on the grounds of more consultations. With whom would they consult on the subject which defied and defiled the very ideological DNA of the party questioned Mr. Singh while mocking at the pusillanimity of the BJP Leaders.
Lambasting further the criminal silence of the BJP leaders in the wake of repeated statements of its ally over denial of Sainik Colonies and Townships for Kashmiri Migrants, he said the BJP stood fully exposed for its abject surrenders. Lampooning the BJP for its political debauchery and double standards, he said that people of Jammu region could no longer be misled or taken for ride and had fully realized that retaining power at any cost was the sole concern of the saffron brigade.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Pawan Dev Singh, Tirath Ram, Sukhjit, Pawan Rassal, Ashok Malkan, Pushpinder besides others.
