Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: General Railway Police (GRP) Katra claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered around 7000 intoxicants from his possession Police spokesman said that yesterday during routine checking of passengers and their luggage at Railway Station Katra the checking officials of GRP Katra recovered a huge consignment of intoxicants drugs which includes 6400 capsules and 600 tablets from the possession of a person namely Ramesh Singh son of Krishan Chand, of Sadota, Pancheri District Udhampur. Police sources said that Ramesh on noticing the police tried to escape away from the Railway Station but was over-powered by police. Police spokesman said that police team under the supervision of Inspector Narinder Singh SHO GRP Katra under the directions of Kamlesh Shoor, SDPO Railway Katra and overall supervision of Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Railway Katra immediately arrested the accused person and seized the consignment of intoxicants. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 5/2016 under section 8/18/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at GRP Katra police station against the drug peddler and further investigation in the said case is in progress. |
