Centre takes Cong, NC into confidence to tackle Valley's violence | Rajnath Singh calls Omar, Sonia | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: With Pakistan from outside and other anti-India forces in inside are hell bent to add fuel to the prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley, Union Government has taken a bold decision to take all political parties, including National Conference, on board to isolate anti-India forces. On the day one after Buhran Wani's encounter, former chief minister and National Conference leader, Omar Abdullah had given a provocative statement to reap political benefit from the but later he too has started giving responsible statement. Union Government has realised that anti-India forces, within the country, would try to exploit the prevailing situation in Valley so the Centre has reached to all political parties including main stream parties of Kashmir Valley. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh discussed prevailing situation of Kashmir Valley with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and former chief minister Omar Abdullah. During the telephonic conversation with Gandhi and National Conference leader Omar, the Home Minister discussed with them efforts to bring back peace and normalcy in Kashmir Valley, which is witnessing violent protests after killing of militant leader Burhan Wani on Friday, official sources said. Centre's attempt to take opposition on board give positive results because after her conversation with Union Home Minister, Congress president Sonia Gandhi issued a statement in which she mentioned that there could be no compromise on matters relating to national security even as she voiced anguish over the loss of lives in the clashes. Similarly Omar Abdullah's tone has also changed after Union Home Minister's intervention. NC leadership has realized that add fuel to the prevailing situation would be proved dangerous for the whole State because situation is already out of control in some areas. Singh is also speaking to other opposition leaders on the Kashmir situation, sources said. The Home Minister has already spoken at least twice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and assured her all central assistance to tackle the violent protests. |
