Terrified KP migrant employees threaten to go on mass casual leave | Govt fails to provide security, puts their lives at stake | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: Following incidents of stone pelting at their camps and threats by violent mob, the migrant employees putting up in various camps in Kashmir Valley today warned to go on mass casual leave and shift to Jammu. The migrant employees putting up in various camps in Kashmir Valley including Vessu and Mattan in South Kashmir district of Anantnag, Haal in Pulwama and Sheikhpora in Badgam districts are in state of panic after houses of Pandits in various parts of Kashmir Valley were targeted by stone pelting mob during last three days. The fresh stone pelting incidents were reported from Vessu migrant camp today. The employees putting up in the camp said there is total panic in the camp and inmates are totally scared. On one hand they are unable to move outside the camp due to prevailing situation and on the other hand the government has failed to arrange fool proof security for them, he added. Though government has claimed that army has been deployed around the camps for security purpose but the camp inmates refute government claim. Meanwhile the migrant employees' core committee which met here today has urged the Union as well as State Government to take concrete steps for their security and safety. These employees also decided to go on mass causal leave till normalcy returns to Valley. They urged the Government to deploy army around the camps and also ensure the ration and medicare facilities in the camps so that the Pandit employees are not put to hardships. Meanwhile leaders of various KP organizations said that attack on camps was a pre-planned conspiracy as some vested elements were trying to create a lawlessness in Kashmir to protest against the return of Pandits to Valley and their settlement in separate colonies in Kashmir. The Pandits while terming the present mob violence a part of a big conspiracy to sabotage the return of Pandits and establishment of separate colonies for them alleged that some political forces in addition to separatist Hurriyat Conference were also supporting it. ``It is a ploy to force the migrant employees to leave the Valley and scuttle the move to return Pandits to Valley'', said Desh Rattan while condemning the attack on migrant camps. |
