Jammu, July 11: The PDP- BJP government is reportedly overlooking the developmental initiatives taken by previous government, as proposal of 371 Sub Health Centers (SHCs) up-gradation to the level of New Type Primary Health Centers (NTPHC) hangs in balance for the last two years. Reliable sources of Health Department informed Early Times that at one hand incumbent government in state has claimed that government is committed to strengthen health institutions across state but other same has failed to take-up the much developmental initiative 'up-gradation of grass root health institutions' which was passed by previous government, cabinet Decision No: 190/14/2014, Dated:16-10-2014. As per order, around 123 SHC is upgraded in Jammu division including district Doda-11, Jammu-43, Kathua-14, Kishtwar-10, Poonch- 12, Rajouri-18, Ramban-11, Reasi-14, Samba-08 and Udhampur -11. Similarly in Kashmir division nearby 221 SHC is upgraded to the level NTPHC including district Srinagar-37, Ganderbal-12, Pulwama-11, Shopian- 06, Anantnag-23, Kulgam-16, Badgam-21, Baramulla-32, Bandipora-14, Kupwara-23, Leh-11 and Kargil-10 but till date not a single SHC was upgraded by government despite nearby two years of PDP-BJP government formation in state. They further said that if incumbent government takes seriously such type of developmental decision, the ratio of unemployment will be decline because as per decision, government also creates 371 posts of Medical Officers (Allopathic), and also citizens of state will be benefited by best health care services at grass root level but the order are still lingered. Criticizing government, Ramesh Kumar, a local resident of Malothi of Tehsil Bhalla of district Doda said that PHC Malothi which was upgraded by government in couple of years back but still the health institution san doctors, lack of accommodation, besides medicines are also missing here. "When it was not upgraded, it runs into three room accommodation and Pharmacists and a Sweeper reporting on the duty but after four years of up gradation as PHC one could find no changes here", he added. Director Health Services Jammu, Dr BS Pathina didn't respond despite repeated calls by this Jurno.
