Early Times Report Jammu, July 11: The State Vigilance Organization has recommended Regular Departmental Action (RDA) against engineers involved in construction of Mini-Township at Jagti Nagrota at the cost of Rs 575 crores, following reports of over irregularities and embezzlement. According to sources the SVO in response to status report sought by Court, submitted that RDA had been approved against the erring officers. "In continuation to earlier status report submitted vide this office letter no SSP/20016 dated 17-5-2016. It is submitted that final report was submitted to Central Officer Vigilance Organization Jammu vide letter no SSP/VOJ2016/1928 dated 03/05/2016 and the matter was approved for RDA against the erring officers", documents available with ET read. Shadi Lal Pandita president Jagti Tenement Committee who raised his voice against the misdeeds in Relief Organization, and filed case in Anti-Corruption Court, said that the SVO approved RDA against nine engineers including XEn, AEEs and JEs. "Ravinder Koul, the then Executive Engineer, R K Bhat Executive Engineer, Rajesh Sharma the then AEE, P K Koul AEE, Santosh Dhar, Suresh Koul, Ravinder Mattoo, Anil Zutshi and Kirti Chattu all Junior Engineers are involved in irregularities in the construction of Mini-township at Jagti Nagrota against the estimated cost of Rs 575 crores including allied works", Pandita said, adding that, bungling of several crores was done during the construction of the township. "Since there are big fishes involved in the major scam that took place in Relief Organization, for rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, enquiry agencies were being influenced by politicians and bureaucrats", he said, adding that to save some big names 'notorious' in loot of public exchequer, the enquiry could not reach its logical conclusion. Meanwhile, sources in Vigilance informed that, earlier, after preliminary investigation the case was recommended by the then SSP Vigilance to IG seeking registration of case into the alleged bungling in the construction of township, but due to known reasons the FIR could not be registered. |
