Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 11: A massive hunt has been launched to trace about three dozen weapons, which were reported missing after a police station in south Kashmir was attacked by a strong mob on Saturday, which was protesting against the killing of top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) Burhan Wani and two other militants in an encounter with security forces on Friday evening.
Three police personnel were also injured after they were fired upon by some people from among the mob after looting weapons, while three police personnel continued to be missing.
However, it was not immediately clear whether they have been kidnapped or they had managed to escape along with weapons, reported missing.
Official sources said the situation will be clear only when the police personnel will return as some records of the police station are also missing.
The weapons missing included INSAS, Self Loading Rifle (SLR), AK rifles, Carbine and Light Machine Gun (LMG) besides ammunitions.
