Early Times Report Jammu, July 11: In a petition challenging the promotion of assistant superintendents, jails, as deputy superintendents, jails, the high court today issued a notice to respondents and ordered that placement of a respondent as incharge deputy superintendent would remain subject to the outcome of the petition. The court directive came in a petition filed by Surinder Kumar whose grievance is that he has been ignored promotion in spite of being the senior most assistant superintendent, jails, while his five juniors have been placed as incharge deputy superintendents, jails, vide order No 425 of of June 9, 2016. In the seniority list, produced in the court, the petitioner figures at serial No 1. Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, after hearing the petitioner's counsel, issued notice to respondents and in the meanwhile, ordered that subject to objections, placement of respondent Ibrahim as incharge deputy superintendent, jails, vide the June 9, 2016 order would remain subject to the outcome of the writ petition and respondents shall accord consideration to the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate order. |
