Early Times Report Kishtwar, July 11: Kishtwar district of Jammu Province today observed a shutdown against the killing of Hizb militant Burhan Wani and also against the killing of over two dozen civilians in Kashmir unrest so far since Friday evening. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts observed complete shutdown while volatile Bhaderwah town also witnessed a complete shutdown. Authorities had deployed scores of security personnel in the area to thwart any violence. Mobile internet services were snapped as a preventive measure. All the markets in Kishtwar district including Bus Stand, Old Bus Stand , Shaheedi Road , Amar Market, Gudhali Chowk, Sangrabata , Malipath , Semna Colony, Jamia Masjid Market, Chatroo, Drabshala, Padyarna Link road Kishtwar and other majority areas of the District wore a deserted look as the Hindu community also preferred to keep their shutters down. Some people led by Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo also took out a procession which passed through various areas of the town. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Sandeep Kumar Wazir and Dy. SP HQ Touseef Rishu also accompanied the procession and issued on spot instructions with regard to maintaining peace and communal harmony. |
