Jammu, July 12: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, Jammu Province will hold a protest demonstration at Chief Office, on July 20. According to press release, a meeting of Provincial Working Committee of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, Jammu Province held at Narwal Bala under the Chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, the state president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) and also the Provincial President of the Association.
In the meeting it was decided that a demonstration would be held, in support of their demands. The Representatives from various divisions attended the meeting.
Everyone present in the meeting expressed dismay over the apathetic attitude of the concerned authorities for their pending demands viz. Pending Pay of Daily Wagers / CP Workers, Regularization of Daily Wagers / CP Workers, DPC meeting of all cadres, implementation of minimum wages Act, Revision of sanctioned strength of the department, Meeting shortage of staff, change of designation as per nature of job being performed by the workers, payment to those who engaged in-liu of land donated to the department, implementation of 7th Pay Commission, enhancement of minimum wages to Rs. 450/- per day. |
