'Terrorists, supporters won't be spared' | Armed action against guerillas to intensify | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 12: Security agencies are firm on their decision to deal with the terrorists, terrorism and their supporters with an iron fist in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources told Early Times there would be no compromise on crushing terror with armed action. "It's not for the first time that Kashmir is witnessing violence. The Valley has witnessed several cycles of violence in the past and these have got fizzled out along with the passage of time. The present violence would also end," sources quoted security officials as having said. They said, "No one can question the right of security forces to open fire. The slain Hizbul Mujhaideen poster boy, Burhan Wani, and his accomplices were terrorists. They were killed in a gunfight. It was a clear message to terrorists that their actions won't be tolerated and they cannot keep on unleashing terror and running away from their end." Sources said, "The decision to target the militants and eliminate them was taken soon after the attack of the convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Pampore on Jammu-Srinagar highway in which eight CRPF men were martyred last month." A security official said, "Angry mobs will not distract us from our goal to neutralise terrorists who endorse violence and hit our police and security forces. While we will ensure judicious use of force to deal with local civilians, a terrorist who dares to hit the state and indulges in mindless violence will have to face the consequences, including death as the security forces challenge him." Sources said that in the second phase security agencies have decided to crack their whip on the sympathizers of terrorist s and separatists. "There are many over ground workers of terrorists who have been identified and would be taken to task in coming days. The Hawala channels through which money is flowing into Kashmir from Middle East are being tracked and these would be choked soon," said a top official. He said, "At present the top priority for the security agencies is to ensure that Amarnath Yatra passes off peacefully and miscreants and the agents of separatists don't succeed in their nefarious designs to terrorize the pilgrims." The official said, "Since the day Burhan has been killed miscreants made a few attempts to attack the langars and camps of pilgrims but their misadventures were foiled due to the alert force personnel present en route Yatra route." The official said that security agencies are unfazed by violent protests in Kashmir and they would continue to go full-steam in their fight against terror. "The encounter in Handwara and the foiling of an infiltration bid in Keran on Monday exhibit the security establishment's resolve to deal firmly with those who pick up arms and indulge in violence," the official added. He said, "During the past year security forces have been observing that whenever a terrorist is killed people in huge numbers come out and participate in his funeral prayers. On many occasions miscreants used to resort to stone pelting near encounter sites and disrupt the operation. This is intolerable and anyone supporting terrorists would have to face the music." |
