Early Times Report

Jammu, July 12: On the eve of 13th July, the black day, Panun Kashmir held a meeting of its Political Affairs Committee to deliberate upon the volatile and uncertain political conditions obtaining in Kashmir valley.
The members expressed serious concern over the incidents of stone pelting and hurling of abuses on the Kashmir Pandit Transit accommodations at various places in the valley in the wake of the slaying of Burhan Wani. The KP youth staying in these accommodations have narrated nightmarish experiences drawing comparisons with the night of 19thJanuary, the most horrible night in the annals of Kashmiri Pandit history also known as the holocaust day. There was a repeat of the use of mosques to spew anti national and anti minority sentiment as was done during the dark days of 1990.
Virender Raina National Spokesman while addressing the gathering said that the attacks on the buses of Amarnath pilgrims are highly condemnable. The government has failed to check the proliferation of Pak sponsored terrorism in the valley. Under these circumstances the condition of the miniscule nationalist minority in the valley has become very uncertain.
On the occasion the Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir passed a resolution urging the government to take all possible measures for the safety and security of the KP settlements in the valley and also prosecute all those responsible for attacking the KP settlements.
The resolution also urged the government to remove all the draconian conditionality attached to the employment package of the KP youth and in particular the most inhuman condition of serving only in the valley.
The resolution also urged the government to provide fool proof security to the Amarnath Yatris and ensure that the Yatra goes on without being subjected to attacks and harassment of any kind. The attacks on the pilgrims are a shameful act and all the right thinking members of the society condemn it. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof.M.L.Raina and attended by Virender Raina National Spokesman, Upinder Kaul General Secretary, Vijay Qazi Secretary and others.
