Early Times Report

Jammu, July 12: In street violence across Kashmir valley youth is confronting security forces with stone missiles, agitated over elimination of Hizbul Mujahidin commander, when 30 have died & 200 injured in firing with situation unabated, it's time to realise 'bullet is sure answer for bullet but surely not for stone'.
S S Bijral former IGP, and BJP state spokes person, made a fervent appeal to agitated young for observing calm for they are our very own, the precious country wealth guised in likes of Shah Faesal IAS topper in 2005 & Ather Aamir 2nd rank in 2016 IAS, there is need to introspect as bullet appears not the answer to stone missiles hurled by agitated youth in a democratic set up.
Pointing to 2010 agitation when 110 precious lives of our young nationals were lost, Bijral said every day we are losing national wealth irreparably; let's use our democratic right to agitate abhorring violence ensuring we are not exploited by anti nationals.
Former IGP lamented unprecedented toll of 2010 and daily rising tally now is all when stone missiles of unprotected are countered with firing mandate for which is to 'fire' only as the last resort.
Recalling yester years, he said state armed police was the best force to deal with law & order problem created by stone pelters being well protected right from head to toe and having training, binding kinship the will to disarm rioters in no times without suffering hurt themselves.
Police disarmed the rioters when people came forward to shoe away the misled youth. Situation as this is a testing time for ground police leadership. Bijral said the force did it creditably before and shall fail not even now. But lot would depend on who sweat in the peace to not bleed in war.
Refering to state leadership of Mehbooba Mufti CM, Bijral said it has augured well for the strife torn state as she had a motherly heart to mourn death of 8 CRPF men at Pampore saying, 'such incidents are defaming Kashmir, defaming state and also our religion under whose garb all this is done especially during holy month of Ramzan", and is painfully hurt over daily killings now on streets and is pleading before all parties to help to end it.
Bijral said youth would do themselves a service reading her statement on concluding day in Legislative Council, , " I understand aspirations of youth of Jammu and Kashmir . I have a vision for them and want to assure them that my government along with Government of India is working to address their issues particularly that of unemployment to the best of our collective responsibilities. This is not just a personal commitment but a pledge that I am making." The coalition govt led by her ordered withdrawal of 104 stone pelting cases and release of 634 persons across state on Eid is enough testimony of her intentions.
Bijral said lets not be finished, lets change: "When you are finished changing, you are finished - Benjamin Franklin.
