Unplanned construction of road, imbalanced water pipes trigger blockage of road for 6 hours

Kathua, July, 12: A large number of people from Panchayat Dhanore, 8 km from Lakhanpur today staged massive protest demonstration followed by blocking of of Kathua- Billawar/Basholi road for 6 hours due to unplanned construction of road and imbalanced water pipes resulting obstacles in drinking water supply in the Panchayat but ironically no official from District administration or PWD rushed on the spot to look into the grievances of protesters and of stranded passengers.
Mohinder Paul Sharma who led the protest informed that Public Work Department constructed 8-9 km road to the village Dhanore but water pipes were not maintained that got more deep resulting imbalance of pipes and scarcity of drinking water supply.
Sharma said both PWD and PHE department must make sufficient plan for water pipes and proper outlet of the drainage along the road but their failure resulting scarcity of drinking water and blockage of rain water along the road. He informed that the rain water gets collected along the road and enters the houses of near-by people resulting damage to houses and crops in agricultural land. He said 300 houses suffer a lot.
Sharma said number of deputations approached to PWD, PHE and district administration for immediate maintenance of improper outlet and unbalanced water pipes but no action has been taken till day.
He said rain water collected along the road entered the houses and damaged the walls and crops. He said People came on road due to negligence of PWD, PHE and District administration as people are suffering for long but nobody asked their grievances.
It is pertinent to mention here that the protesters blocked road for 6 hours but nobody from administration rushed on the spot to pacify the protesters and redress their demands.
Parilika, a University student from Basholi said she had to reach university for important assignment but could not reach due to blockage of road.
Paras Ram, an old man from Baggan, Billawar who carried his young patient daughter and traveled several miles to reach district Hospital Kathua cursed the administration and state government.
