Residents of Ward No 14 protest against PWD 7/12/2016 11:09:29 PM Early Times Report kathua, July, 12: A large number of people today hailing from Ward No. 14 staged protest against PWD department and alleged that the sub-standard material was used in construction of road from Bhagat Singh Chowk parilawand Kathua. The protest was led by Balbinder Singh Raju, a social activist. While addressing protesters, Balbinder Singh alleged that PWD department and its contractor used sub-standard material in construction of few meter road and said concrete material has come off from newly constructed but unused road before rainy season and asked what would happen in rainy season. He said XEN PWD must review the existing position before release of NoC to contractors. Singh said Government ordered that contractor must maintain the constructed road for three years but this road has damaged within days. He pointed out working of PWD officers and their involvement in issuance of NoCs without knowing ground level report.
