Early Times Report JAMMU, July 12: Ladli Foundation in collaboration with Rural Women Foundation, J&K, on Tuesday organized a promotional programme at Abhinav Theatre, here. Many promotional activities relate to the save the girl child and other musical activities were held in the programme which were witnessed by activists from other states. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nikhal Basotra was the Chief Guest. All state heads and volunteers, who came from the different states of the country, discussed about female self defense, foeticide and education. This programme carried forward the vision of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India to empower women in every sphere of life. "We teach the girls three elements of anti-bullying and self-defense: talk your way out of it, walk your way out of it and then do whatever you need to do to get out of it," foundation official said. "The reason for organising this event is to spread awareness and about the disastrous consequences of female foeticide among people," he said. "Unfortunately, the problem is not only prevalent in the rural areas but it is worst in cities," he added. Welcoming the participants and guests, President, Rural Women Foundation, Sunita Sharma laid stress on many issues regarding woman and girl child. She also exhorted the participants to take oath to protect the rights of woman. The students also presented cultural programmes which were applauded by the audience. |
