| Two held for alleged 'rape' charges | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 13: Following a written complaint from family of a teen girl alleging rape, the Chenani Police have booked two persons under rape charges and have arrested the accused today evening during raids conducted at their possible hideouts. Police reports said, the two arrested rape accused have been identified as Ashraf and Abdul Qyoom while further investigations are on. Police sources said, "A written complainant was lodged by family members of girl (18) with Police Station Chenani of Udhampur District. Quoting complainant the police said, " it was alleged that two persons namely Ashraf s/o Hakmdin and Abdul Qaum s/o Bashir of Sudhmhadev have raped the girl.' Accordingly Chenani police registered a case under FIR No. 71/16 u/s 376 CrPC against the accused and started manhunt for the accused. I/C Sudhmhadev Police Post K M Khajuria constituted teams and conducted raids to nab the two accused while victim was sent to District Hospital (DH) Udhampur for medical examination. Meanwhile police said during raids police have succeeded to arrest the two rape accused at late evening and further investigation are on.
