| Mendhar town reels under 'darkness' | | | MS Nazki

Mendhar July 13: In this hot and humid summer days, the erratic power supply has compounding problems to people of Mendhar town which is reeling under darkness courtesy shecduled and unscheduled power cuts for the last one week. Locals said the transformer of the area has developed some technical snag and went out of order some days ago but nobody from the Power Development Department has come to rectify the technical snag of the said transformer while the whole area is reeling under darkness. "We have been requesting the concerned JE-PDD and AE -PDD of the area to get the transformer repaired but our repeated requests are falling to deaf ears", said Naib Sarpanch Mohd Aslam. Another local said, "Due to the erratic power supply the water supply in the Mendhar town too has been affected since a week. "We have to fetch water for domestic purposes from local traditional water sources", he added. The locals in a fervent appeal to AEE-PDD Poonch have urged him to get the damaged transformer repaired at an earliest
