JKFFA pays tributes to Com Dhanwantri

JAMMU, July 13: The J&K Freedom Fighters' Association (JKFFA) in an impressive function held here today at Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir Ambphalla Jammu remembered the freedom fighter/Martyr Comrade Dhanwantri on his Martyrdom day.
The function was organized by the JKFFA President Ved Gandotra, where he was the Chief Guest. Floral tributes were paid to the great freedom fighter of Jammu, Comrade Dhanwantri who worked along with other freedom fighters for the freedom of the Mother-land.
Candles were lit in the honour of the great Martyr and two minutes silence was observed in his honour. Children of Bal Niketan sang "National Anthem" while waving National Flags in their hands.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers highlighted the life history of Com. Dhanwantri and his sacrifice for the country. The members also elaborate the deeds of the Netaji Subash Chander Bose, sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru.
They also remembered Martyrdom of Chander Shekhar Azad, freedom struggle by Maharani Laxmi Bai, Mangal Pandey, Ashfaq Ullah Khan, Sharwani, Master Abdul Aziz, Abdul Hamid and many more others.
The speakers asked the youth of the state, especially of the Valley to come to your senses, don't become prey to the politics of vested interest, shun violence and become a part of the development of the state. They said that terrorists should not be allowed to play their dirty game in a sovereign country and youth should be shown right path to follow democratic ways.
lt is pertinent to mention here that Com. Dhanwantri was awarded Death Sentence by the British rule, which was later modified to life imprisonment at Kala Pani.
The members, who participated in the function were General SecretayParbhat Kapahi, Rajinder Singh, Rajiv Mahajan, Gagan Singh, Tej Ram Dogra, S.Harminder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Ginny Babber, Pritam Sharma, S.Devinder Singh, Janmeet Bali, Vipan Bali, Binny Mahajan and others.
