KP organizations observes Black day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 13: Joint Forum of KP organizations observed July 13 as the Black Day by organizing a protest demonstration at Durga Nagar. The Joint Forum leaders led by D N Kissu, Chairman All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit United Forum, Virender Raina, National Spokesman Panun Kashmir, H N Jattu, President AIKPC, Sardar Prem Singh, President Displaced Sikh Forum, G L Koul Advisor, P L Sudeshi, Upinder Koul, Vijay Qazi, Ravi Punjabi, Kamal Bagati and others protested against the observance of the so called Martyrs Day by the state administration. Speaking on the occasion, Kissu made scathing remarks against the government for the observance of the so called Martyrs Day. He said that it tantamounts to rubbing salt in the wounds of Kashmiri Pandits. It was on this day in 1931that Kashmiri Hindus were subjected to genocide and mass looting and arson. The brutalities inflicted on the KP settlements in the wake of the killing of terrorist Burhan should stir the conscience of all the civilised world. Kashmiri Pandits are the aborigines of Kashmir and have a natural and inalienable right on the territory of Kashmir. The time for the establishment of a separate homeland in Kashmir for the Kashmiri Hindus has come and the govt must start the process in earnest. Separate Homeland in Kashmir would also secure the northern frontiers of the country against the machinations of Pakistan and China for all times to come. The members expressed serious concern about the security situation in Kashmir and urged the government to take all possible measures to provide security to the KP settlements in Kashmir and also ensure that no further harm is caused to the Amarnath pilgrims. The members also urged the government to stop the inhuman practice of observing the so called Martyrs Day and in its place celebrate the day when Indian troops landed in Kashmir to evict the Pakistani raiders from Kashmir. All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) today castigated the Jammu and Kashmir government for trying to trivialize the continuous attacks on Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley where minority camps and their temples are being subjected to severe stone pelting, anti national sloganeering and other means of intimidation by not only failing to provide adequate security. In a statement APMCC General Secretary Advocate Arun Kandrooo deplored the BJP-PDP state governments' attitude towards Kashmiri Pandits after the killing of Burhan Wani where instead of reaching out to the community the government not only filed FIRs but also threatened those who were seeking help from the government. He termed it as state sponsored terror against Pandit community and stated it is unfortunate that government in order to save its skin under its appeasement policy has been granting amnesty to the anti-national elements but on the other hand has treated SOS calls as enough ground to book Pandits. Referring to the tweets of APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit who was stuck inside a temple to whom government had threatened to lodge an FIR, APMCC stated that on one hand Government rescued him from the same temple along with some families but on the other it casted aspersions on his presence in Kashmir. "If he ((Vinod Pandit) was not inside the temple whom did the government rescue late night on July 9, he asked. Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) and its supporting organization All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) observed black day today at Delhi, Jammu and other places. KPC and ADKUF chief while addressing the various corner meetings organized at New Delhi and Jammu respectively, in order to observe Black Day, highlighted the dimensions of the first organized violence in 1931 against the Kashmiri Pandits by the Kashmiri Muslims under the banner of Muslim Conference of Kashmir. He taunted at the so called Muslim martyrs of 1931 and called the Kashmiri Pandits the real martyrs and narrated the horror tales of this day in village Kanikote in Budgam, Maharajganj and Vicharnag in Srinagar, Kashmir. He said official observance of July 13 as the Martyrs Day in the state is insulting and a grave injustice to the suffering of victims of the communal carnage. KPC President Kundan Kashmiri emphasizes to all community people that July 13 to be observed globally by Kashmiri Pandits as "Black Day" every year as this day in 1931 marked the beginning of the first organized genocide of Kashmiri Pandits, when there was loot, massacre, arson and killing of the Kashmiri Pandits and others. |
