Jammu, July 13: A fresh batch of 3,240 Amarnath pilgrims today left the Yatri Niwas base camp from here for the cave shrine in Kashmir Valley. The batch comprised of 2,439 males, 700 women this afternoon left the base camp in a convoy of 72 buses and 19 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs), official spokesperson here said. He said 101 sadhus also left in two buses from Parade Ground and proceeded for their journey.
However, total 93 vehicles left Jammu amid traditional religious fervor and under tight security blanket. The yatra had remained suspended on Jul 9 and 10 due to tense situation in Kashmir valley over the death of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
