| Life in Gordi, its surroundings affected due to blackout for last 22 days | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, July 13: The normal life in Gordi, Kulyana, Muralaa, Seoar Manzlaa and other surrounding areas of Udhampur district has been affected due to erratic power supply and sheer blackout observed since last 22 days.
According to locals the blackout is observed after transformer of their locality got damaged some twenty days ago and since then they are running from pillar to post to get their out of order transformer repaired but all in vain as authorities concerned seems to be little bothered.
Vinod Kumar, Sham Lal and others villagers also alleged that ironically department concerned even has stated that it has no funds for repairing the damaged transformer and it will be repaired only when funds will be received.
One Surinder Sharma working with local media said that there is complete blackout in their area since the transformer of area got damaged. He and others sought from DC Udhampur Niraj Kumar to direct due directions to the concerned department and to replace the old Transformer with new one
Meantime PDD XEn Udhampur when contacted said that many of transformers have been damaged due to recent wind storm which hit the area some days ago. He however assured that department has put its human resources to repair the shattered infrastructure and soon the power supply will be restored. |
