SKUAST-TAJ visit MRC Udhampur | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 16: SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) along with its president Dr. Vikas Sharma visited Maize Research Center, Udhampur to discuss the grievances of scientific staff of the station. Dr R S Sudan, incharge of MRC Udhampur apprised the TAJ president about different problems being faced at the station. He informed that a complete fencing has not been given to the station even after repeated requests to the authorities till date inspite of its primary requirement to avoid trespassing and losses to the crops. He also requested for the provision of additional funds from the Varsity for the upkeeping and watch / ward of the station keeping in view the restricted budget of the scheme. Dr Akhil Verma applauded the efforts of SKUAST-TAJ for the upliftment of outstations. The scientific staff of the station requested the TAJ president for timely release of their due arrears and transfers of over stayed staff. Non-teaching staff of the Maize Research Station also apprised Dr Vikas about their problems especially the delay in the clearance of bills from the head quarter at Chatha. They informed that there is a need to streamline the functioning of the Accounts Section so that the work could not suffer at outstations. Dr. Vikas Sharma informed the house that teaching association of SKUAST-J is working for the welfare of scientific fraternity and overall development of the University. He assured the participants that their professional interests will not be ignored and their grievances will be taken up with the Competent Authority for immediate action. |
