| VHP demands safety and security of Amarnath pilgrims | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 16: VHP president Leela Karan Sharma has asked the government of state as well as the centre to ensure the safe yatra of Shri Amarnath ji and curb the militant activities with strong hands giving free hands to the security forces.
He condemned the statement of Muzzafar Beigh Member Parliament PDP that security forces have not followed the norms while conducting operation to eliminate Burhan Wani who was a dreaded militant and carrying a prize of Rs 10 Lakh on his head.
Does Beigh expect that the security forces should have allowed the dreaded terrorist to kill security personnels & wait for permission from CM?.
Statement like this is bound to demoralise the morale of the security forces and also helps to encourage the militants. The time has come that the state Government and Central Government must act fast and swiftly to segregate all these separatist elements and finish them with heavy hands.
Sharma asked to deal firmly with the militants and separatists who have already caused much damage to the vehicles carrying/bringing the yatries and compensate the loss caused to the them and the person running the langers and ensure proper supply to the langer so that they can meet the needs of the yatries. Sharma condemned the attack on yatries. The separatist elements forget that the yatra also financially benefit the masses of the Kashmir and any loss or damage cause to them physically, mentally have the effect of rebuffing the same within the state and throughout the country.
It has also been noticed that a bus from Delhi when carrying yatries on their return was stopped by the rude elements, the yatries were unloaded, they were beaten, their clothes were torn and they were forced to raise slogans of Pakistan Zindabad. This act is highly condemnable. At the same time Sharma applauds the act of all those persons who evacuated the yatries which met with an accident and took the yatries to the hospital and provided them all the necessities and facilitates.
Leela Karan Sharma again warned State and Centre to curb activities of these separatist with heavy hand failing which a strong reaction may occur throughout India if any harm causes to the yatries. S/Sh. Suresh Chander Working President, Shakti Dutt Sharma Secretary, Sudershan Khajuria Jt. General Secretary Baba Amarnath & Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas, Khem Raj Sharma were also present in the press conference. |
