RAJOURI, July 16: Taking serious note of the pro-Azadi slogans raised by some unidentified youth, reportedly some Kashmiri youths, afterFriday prayers at Gujjar Mandi Chowk at Rajouri, and an alleged statement by a cleric that beef is mandatory for majority community, Right wing organizations have reported matter to police seeking action due against them. On the complaint of representatives of right wing originations, the police have lodged a case FIR No 456/2016 under sections 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion/race etc), 124A (who ever bring or attempt to bring into hatred, excite or attempt to excite disaffection etc), 341 (wrongful restraint) & 147 (punishment for rioting) RPC. Immediately after the slogans were raised by some people after Friday prayers, a joint leadership comprising Sat Pal Sharma, Karan Thakur (both VHP leaders), Sorab Gupta (Bajrang Dal) held a meeting at Jawhar Nagar and then led strong protest demanding action against the anti-national and anti-social elements. The protestors also had warned a shut down Saturday in case police don't respond to their sentiments and complaints. "We have held a meeting with the SSP and Deputy Commissioner in the evening and demanded action against such elements, who wanted to disturb peace and communal harmony, within next two days. In case police failed to take any action we will decide our further course of action," said Karan Thakur. Meanwhile today talking to some reporters, SSP Rajeshwar Singh assured action against such elements after their identification. |
