| Package employees corner Bharatiya Janta Party ministers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 16: The senior BJP minister had to beat a hasty retreat after they exchanged heated words with PM package employees at Gandhi Nagar here today after he failed to satisfy these employees demanding their posting in Jammu in view of recent stone pelting incidents at their transit camps in different places of Kashmir in general and Haal transit camp in particular.
The protesting employees who had reached here after their transit camps were attacked by stone pelters and violent mob at Haal, Vessu and Mattan in the aftermath of the killing of dreaded terrorist and Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani today visited the Gandhi Nagar where the BJP Core Group meeting was under way in which besides senior BJP ministers and MPs of the party were present.
The package employees about two dozens in number wanted to handover a memorandum to the BJP ministers about their plight with the plea to adjust these employees outside the Valley till complete normalcy is restored in Valley.
However as soon as the BJP Core Group meeting ended and BJP ministers came out to leave the migrant employees put their demand before him. They demanded that they be brought to Jammu as situation was grave for them in Kashmir and they were unable to pass the days their in view of the prevailing situation. The protesting employees informed the BJP minister that they fear worst in case they return Valley as they have been already threatened by the subversives and violent mob there.
They further said that their life as well as that of their children is in danger and they can't compromise on their nationality and toe the line of subversives and anti national elements there. However the BJP minister said that government has taken adequate steps for their security and security forces were deployed around the camps.
Not supporting the adjustment of package employees at Jammu, the BJP minister said they will be provided proper security in Valley. This resulted into heated exchange of words between the senior BJP minister and package employees who raised slogans against the government and him forcing the BJP ministers beat a hasty retreat.
Later these employees handed over a memorandum to another BJP minister and also apprised him of their plight. |
