PEC hails Gov's decision to ruturn Panchayat Act 7/25/2016 11:25:10 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 25:Panchayat Empowerment Committee (PEC) of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday hailed the Governor, N N Vohra decision for returning the Panchayat bill to the Assembly of J&K. Besides, the PEC congratulated the Governor for realizing the importance of the Panchayat system in J&K which has been supported by the people/residents of J&K who voted en-bloc without any political reservation to elect their members for the Panchayat. The Panchayat Empowerment Committee in its emergency get-together at Jammu appealed the Governor to reject this Assembly Bill which is anti-people and anti-farmers and is aimed to suppress the Panchayats which received unquestionable support of the electorates in the entire state. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Principal (retd.) Khajoor Singh Sarpanch in a panchayat in Samba Tehsil and was attended by nearly two dozen Sarpanches. It was decided to hold an emergency meeting of Panchayats at Jammu on Saturdary, 30th July, 2016 to express special thanks to the Governor and urge for the burial of this anti-people, anti-panchayat bill in J&K.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
