No network, outstation Kashmiris asked to contact DCs to connect with family
7/25/2016 11:50:10 PM
Srinagar, July 25: Over two weeks since suspending mobile telephony and mobile Internet services in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir government today asked Kashmiris residing outside the state to contact Deputy Commissioners of their native districts for any help and released landline and mobile numbers of all the 10 DCs in the Valley.
"Residents of J&K working or studying outside the state have been asked to contact the Deputy Commissioners of their native districts in case they need any help or assistance," said an official spokesperson.
Barring BSNL post-paid mobile connections and landlines with broadband connections, the authorities suspended mobile telephony and mobile Internet services across the Valley following widespread protests triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani by security forces in an encounter on July 8 which have left 47 people dead and more than 5,500 injured.
