ARTO issues licences to physically unfit person 7/25/2016 11:50:31 PM Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Poonch, July 25: while the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch has been showing his honesty in media for about a year, but reality pours out through a licence issued by him on 19/1/2016. According to the sources the said licence holder is not physically fit who have applied for licence many times, but all former ARTOs refused him as he was physically unfit. V. K Manyal, Yougal Sharma, Rajesh Gupta and other officials who have transacts their services as ARTO Poonch since a long, did not issue the licence to Vikas Sharma s/o Babu Ram r/o ward no 11 teh Haveli district Poonch. Sources said that the said licence holder is physically unfit and can't drive vehicles. Locals and many drivers alleged that is overbearing the legal drivers and issuing illegal licences of such type to physically handicapped persons. They also alleged him that he passes vehicles of political approachable persons and ignored poor drivers and low ranked transporters. They appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to take action against such official and post an honest officer for Poonch district. In this regard while sources telephonically connected to state transport commissioner, he said the physical fitness certificate is necessary for issuing of licence. "Action should be taken against ARTO and such licence will be rejected," he said.
