Overloading in Mendhar, traffic police in slumber | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Sept 8: Over loading of passenger vehicles goes unabated in this hilly border district further making daily commuters vulnerable to life risks as the border district only boast of poor and depleted road connectivity besides plying of old busses and Tatasumo in the district. Over loading is still a routine on the rural and hilly routes of this border district especially on peripheral areas where the frequency of vehicles are low and people are forced to ride on overloaded mini buses and tata sumo Buses, and tata sumo are often seen over loaded on these routes and nothing has changed on ground except statements by the officials whose hollow claims have fallen flat on ground zero as the overloaded Tata Sumos, and buses has become a routine affair for the people in Mendhar, Ari, Harni, Kalaban, Sagra, Surankote and Poonch. Although traffic authorities claim of taking necessary steps to control overloading, but it seems only like an eyewash as overloading goes unabated and passengers vehicles could be seen over loaded with people clinging around the vehicles on various routes like Mankote , Sagra , Kalaban, Ari, Harni, Balakote and others. It is a known fact that the officials of the traffic authorities are hand in glove with the buses and Tatasumo in overloading of the passenger vehicles", alleged Rameez Raja president Youth Association Mendhar, Poonch adding, " who cares for the common masses". |
