Early Times Report
anantnag, Sept 8: Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) has served a notice on a police officer for allegedly raising an illegal construction at Movera, Pahalgam, in violation of the high court orders. Warning strict action, PDA has also held the officer guilty of taking undue advantage of the prevailing unrest in the valley. The notice, a copy of which is with Early Times, says: "You will be aware of the fact that the high court has imposed a ban on any sort of constructions in the area falling under the PDA jurisdiction. By erecting the wall around your structure at Movera, you aren't only violating the high court directive but are also taking undue advantage of the prevailing situation." The officer, according to notice, has been asked to stop raising the construction and warned of serious legal action. "Strict legal action under rules will be initiated against you in case you continued walling the structure," reads the notice. "Don't take undue advantage of the prevailing situation," the notice reads. Pertinent to mention here that since the beginning of the unrest in the valley, many influential people have attempted to raise illegal structures at several tourist spots including Pahalgam. However, PDA has carried out demolition drives and kept a vigil on such elements to ensure that no fresh construction are raised at Pahalgam.
