Is Beigh projecting himself for CM's job? | Praising Centre, targeting Mehbooba | | Early Times Report jammu, Sept 8: The PDP MP Muzaffar Beigh is reportedly targeting and pressuring Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to relinquish office in the backdrop of ongoing violence in Kashmir valley, apparently in a bid to project himself as a possible successor. The senior leader of the PDP, who had earlier also criticized Mehbooba Mufti in an interview to a news channel, wherein he had said that she (the CM) should quit the office if she believes that she is not getting the required the support. Most importantly, he had also said that while the General (read PM Modi) has the broad vision but the foot soldiers -(read the CM) are not able to deliver. "It seems that Beigh is trying to appease PM Modi while he is hitting out at the CM. It is clear that he himself has clear chief ministerial ambition," said a senior PDP leader. "It is not for the first time Beigh has made an obvious bid to project himself as possible successor. He made a fine speech in the Rajya Sabha defending the alliance and also hit out at the separatists", he added. Source said that in the all party delegation meeting called by the PM earlier, he had made scathing remarks at the growing unrest in the valley. "If we look at his statement in the all party meeting in the N Delhi and his recent statements in the interviews, it's clear that he is projecting himself as the only one who could save the state and deliver on the ground. He is playing a double game and he is master in it," said the leader. |
