S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report Srinagar, Sep 8: Dozens of villages in far flung areas are lack trauma care centers with the result injured people die for want of basic health facilities in the Kashmir valley. "People in urban and suburban areas, pre hospital care is commonly provided by professional (paid) rescuers while community volunteers with basic training have played an important role in providing care in rural or sparsely populated areas of the valley, Dr Noor-Ud Din told early times. He said that, the rate of injuries are high, particularly in the border districts like Kupwara, Gurez, Bandipora, Uri, Gulmarag whether due to bad roads or other causes affects not only the immediate victim but also his or her family and members of the surrounding community.Many fatal injuries can be prevented by timely medicare, said the doctor Meanwhile a group of people from Kupwara district said that, without pre hospital care, many people who might otherwise survive their injuries may die at the scene or en route to the hospital. " A lack of political support in creating the trauma care centers in the border areas of Kashmir valley is very unfortunate and the people are only left with no other option except to surrender their lives to death, they said. |
