JKBWA pays rich tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 8: Remembering Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his death anniversary being observed throughout the State, the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association paid rich tributes to the late leader describing him architect and founder of educative, equality and amity between all regions and all sections of the society. Highlighting the struggle and sacrifices made by Sher-i-Kashmir for the cause of people and the State throughout his life, Association President Sat Paul Lakhotra said that welfare and public empowerment was his cherished desire and he made all possible endeavours in this direction. "Sheikh Sahib propagated and nurtured amity, brotherhood and mutual trust between various sections of the society and lived as a torch-bearer of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Ishai unity. Lakhotra said that the best way of paying tributes to the great leader is to work with a missionary zeal for re-establishing State's deep rooted secular traditions for ensuring sustained peace and normalcy in the State which would usher in progress and prosperity. Association members said that the revolutionary measure of land to tiller taken by Sheikh Sahib had helped a lot to engulf the gap between have and have not's and built a society on the principle of equality and justice. Prominent among others who participated in the function and paid tributes to Sher-i-Kashmir included NaibSarpanch Ram Lal, Punnu Ram, Jitendra Paul, Virendra Paul and BishanDass. |
