Srinagar, Sep 8 An Assistant Director and two Tehsil Supply Officers have been suspended for alleged misappropriation of ration worth crores of rupees under Mufti Mohammad Food Entitlement Scheme (MMFES) in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. Meanwhile, the state government has constituted a two member Committee, which will investigate the allegation and submit its report within 10 days. An official spokesperson here today said that acting swiftly on the allegations of misappropriation of ration under MMFES quota in Pulwama, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has placed under suspension Assistant Director and two Tehsil Supply Officers, besides ordering inquiry into the allegation. "Mushtaq Ahmed, Assistant Director, Department of FCS&CA Pulwama, Mohammad Amin, Tehsil Supply Officer Awantipora, Ghulam Mohammad Rather, Tehsil Supply Officer Granary Pulwama have been suspended with immediate effect," he said. He said Assistant Director, Department of FCS&CA, Shopian shall hold the charge of Pulwama till further orders Meanwhile, he said two member Committee headed by Director Department of FCS&CA, Kashmir and Director Finance of Administrative Department has been directed to investigate the ration quota of Pulwama particularly for the month of July, August and September. "They have been directed to submit the report within 10 days," he added. Meanwhile, Ali said that government will not spare anybody found guilty of misappropriation of ration. He said that officers have already been directed to remain vigilant and provide the ration to the people in most transparent manner and reiterated that strict action will be taken against any laxity in this regard. The Minister said that the Department is directly connected with the poor people of the state and adequate steps will be taken to safeguard their right. |
