"The truck skidded off the road and fell in the drain in the wee hours and after apprehending trouble the bovine smugglers along with the driver fled from the spot leaving behind the truck bearing registration No. JK2AP-5315" said a local resident. He added when the people of the area noticed the accident they in an attempt to offer help to the driver started his search but found nobody there. When the people found the animals hidden behind the cement bags, the news of bovine smuggling spread like a jungle fire in the area. Inhabitants of the area rushed to the spot and rescued the cows and calves and later they set ablaze the truck in a fit of rage against the police department and the smugglers.
It was the second incident when the vehicle carrying bovines met with an accident near Narian village and people came to know about the bovine smuggling attempt.
