Govt removes Relief commissioner | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad Srinagar, Sep 8: Acting on a report published in early TIMES regarding the overstaying of Jammu and Kashmir Relief Commissioner, the state cabinet Thursday removed the official from said post. It was two weeks before, early times had reported that. R. K Pandita was overstayed since 2012 as Relief commissioner. Sources said that the cabinet which met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti took cognizance of the report and removed the official from the present place of posting. Sources said that R, K Pandita as Relief Commissioner has many case charged against him in vigilance. “These cases are under active investigation. The record related to these cases has already been seized by the investigation agency,” sources maintained. It is to mention here that the various migrant associations had demanded that government should declare him deadwood for his non performance. “We demand his immediate removal as he has overstayed at this place and is not able to solve the hardships of the migrants and contribute nothing for the betterment of displaced persons,” one of the leaders of the migrant association had said. The early times has also reported that the Relief commissioner office has become the den of corruption as a result the migrants who visit the office for settling the problems are put to lot of hardships.
