Burglars strike at Shiv temple, decamp with Rs 35000 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: Challenging faith of people and daring to Almighty, some burglars struck at a Shiv temple at Subash Nagar area last night and decamped with Rs 35000/- cash after breaking donation box of the temple. "The theft came to light when some morning walkers noticed the broken donation box and the matter was reported to the police following which a team from Police Post Sarwal and Police Station Bakshi Nagar rushed to the spot", said a police sources quoting the complainants temple priest and locals of area. Sources said, "Police on reaching to the spot immediately collected circumstantial evidences including CCTV footage and the investigating team also recovered the abandoned donation box from some meters away from the temple." "According to complainant, cash upto Rs 35000 has been stolen, police sources said, adding a acse in this regard stands registered and matter is being probed. However, no suspected were detained when last reports came in. Pertinently the burglaries at religious places are on rise in the area and this is third incident of burglary at a temple in the locality. Locals now are apprehensive about their security as the police yet have failed to get clue about the thefts at temples in the locality. |
