Woman allegedly assaulted by in-laws 9/8/2016 11:53:45 PM Jammu, Sept 8: A woman was allegedly assaulted by her in-laws at Sainik Colony this morning and was hospitalized. Meanwhile Police have registered a case in this connection and started further investigations. "The victim has been identified as Ranju Choudhary wife Pawan Choudhary and daughter of Mohinder Singh, police sources said. Narrating the woeful tale of his daughter, the father of victim alleged that his daughter was married with Pawan Choudhary some 12 years ago and since then her in-laws used to harass her on one or the other pretext. He also mentioned that a number of complaints have been lodged with concerned police against harassment to her by her in-laws but action still was awaited. Recalling the horrid experiences of his daughter, he said that today when Ranju was doing some routine daily chores, her in-laws assaulted with criminal intention and also gave her severe electric shocks till she lost her consciousness. "On hearing her screams, some neighbours rushed to the house and rescued her from their clutches and immediately shifted her to near dispensary from where doctors after giving her preliminary treatment referred to Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar for advance treatment, he added. Meanwhile the concerned Police have registered a case in this connection and started investigations in this regard.
