Delayed PALAV guns supply forces security forces to use of 'pellet guns' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 13 : In the wake of inordinate delay in getting pepper guns popularly known as PALAV Guns to the police and the paramilitary forces, the security forces are compelled to continue to use the pellet guns while dealing protesters Though Union Minister for Home, Rajnath Singh in recent past had assured people of state that the security forces will be equipped with PALAV guns or Pepper Guns which are believed to be the most non-lethal guns but the delay in procuring the aforesaid guns to the security forces deployed in valley are forced them to continue with the pellet guns. During Union Home Minister's recent visit to Valley, the political, non-political parties and even the civil society have urged Mr Singh about making pepper guns available to the security forces so that the Pellet Guns shall be replaced. According reports from valley, the doctors at SMHS Hospital received 31 patients from Karimabad area of Pulwama district on Sunday. Reports added that hospital authorities were allegedly discharging patients so as to get minimum patients admitted before Eid festivity so that their might feel work pressure to celebrate Eid -ul-Azha. Meanwhile reports said the security forces and the police have no inhibitions in using the PALAV or Pepper Guns but they should be made available to them. |
