CM office flooded with requests from Kashmiris to bring normalcy | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 13: The influential people and section of the intelligentsia of the Kashmir are consistently requesting the chief minister to end this mad and vicious cycle of violence in the valley. The CM's office has been consistently receiving calls for the same and some have written to the CM in private to take what ever steps to end this mad-cycle. "The CM Mehbooba Mufti has been consistently receiving messages and some times letters and message to end this cycle of violence. And, the people requesting the same are not ordinary people but who are quite influential and also a section of the intelligentsia. It's for this reason that CM has finally decided to take tough call and it's after this the home minister had given dead-line of a week to bring the normalcy back in the valley," said the official. Sources said that the people affected by this cycle of violence have told the CM in private also that this violence which has consumed lives till now mostly in rural areas has the potential of fanning out in the Srinagar city and may consume many youth there. The sources said that CM moved by the concern of the parents and ordinary people had assured them that she will now go cracking at the protests. "The CM has assured them that she will not care about her political career or about the chair but will ensure that not only this cycle of violence is put to an end but also a lasting solution is ensured/ She is taking a lot of risk and in her calculations but she is being supported to the hilt by the PM Modi," said the official. The CM was first reluctant to go hard and allowed the protests to take out and it's for this reason that in more than two-month of acute violence the death toll has not been allowed to go high. "But it was taken as her weakness and many political actors chipped in finding a scope for political gains and this is the reason that army has been called in and process of restoring normalcy has been set in," said the official. |
